Discover the traditional Japanese art of Sashiko embroidery
Saturday 28.02.2026 - 10.00am - 3.00pm
Sashiko is an ancient embroidery technique, recognizable by its regular, graphic stitches, originally used to reinforce and decorate textiles. In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of Sashiko embroidery. Step by step you will explore traditional patterns, the stitching movement, and the specific techniques of this Japanese art.
No prior sewing or embroidery experience is required.
In the second part of the workshop, the completed embroidery will be used to sew an elegant book cover or an iPad pouch using a sewing machine.
Each participant will leave with a unique, handmade creation.
Snacks and drinks to keep you energized throughout the day will be provided.
Please bring:
- Your sewing machine
- Your basic sewing tools (needles, scissors, bobbins...)
Included in the price:
- Denim fabric for the pouch
- Embroidery thread
- All other materials needed for the project
